Circular walk to Buckden Pike in Wharfedale in the Yorkshire Dales
Another great walk, with simply sensational views, and again it’s a walk I’ve never ventured on before, about nine and a half miles the way we went. Please do take your map for reference, OL30, and remember that even if it’s lovely and warm in the valley bottom it may be freezing cold when you reach the top.
Walk from Ribblehead Viaduct in the Yorkshire Dales, venturing up Whernside and back
Walking up Whernside in the Yorkshire Dales was definitely a first for me. A small group of us set off to scale the heights in early spring on quite a windy day with occasional low cloud covering the tops which just as soon appeared disappeared again.
Circular Walk from West Witton to Penhill Beacon and Trig Point in Wensleydale
My friend Denny and I have been walking the Yorkshire Dales together more than usual just lately (Den is the one in the picture) we’re in training to attempt the National Three Peaks, Ben Nevis, Scarfell Pike, and Mount Snowdon beginning of June
Circular walk up Gunnerside Gill in Swaledale
Swaledale isn’t a place I’ve often walked, perhaps we feel there are so many lovely walks in Wensleydale that we don’t need to go much further afield. But a couple of friends suggested we did a circular walk up

Walk from Coverbridge Inn near Middleham, lower Wensleydale
Who knows how far we walked, some said seven miles, some six miles so we’ll call it six and half miles, all flat going, and really very, very pleasant. Lovely views to enjoy and walking on the sunny side of the dale!
Berry’s to Berry’s and Lunch!
You’re on holiday and maybe you feel like just having a shortish walk, with some wonderful views, a bit of a hill to make you think it’s going to do you some good, which it most definitely will, a ‘cuppa’ to start and lunch awaiting at the end.
Four Villages Walk from West Burton in the glorious Yorkshire Dales
Well, I hate to say it, but I’ve never done this before, been on these footpaths and through these villages many, many times but never all in one walk! Set off from West Burton, you can park at the waterfall area or park on the road by the green.
Circular Walk from West Witton in Wensleydale
What a lovely walk the other day, easy going, panoramic views, river side walking, wildlife, seemed to have everything going for it. Start from West Witton in Wensleydale, we parked in the large layby on the east side of the village by the A684.
Bainbridge in Wensleydale in the glorious Yorkshire Dales
Bainbridge in Wensleydale, just four miles east of Hawes, goes back to Roman times, and probably beyond, with traces of these times still visible with a roman fort, the outline of which can be seen even though the stones
