ABOUT COUNTRY HIDEAWAYS

Country Hideaways was established over 30 years ago by Nadine with Joanne, her daughter, coming to join her in 2001 and based in West Burton where Nadine has lived for many years and where Joanne grew up.  We are truly passionate about the area and surrounds we live in and know that you too will have a truly magical holiday in this very special part of England. We are a small business and let simply beautiful holiday cottages on behalf of our caring property owners in the glorious Yorkshire Dales and Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with an aim to provide a very personal service for our holidaymakers. We strive to give a pleasant booking experience either over the telephone or online having built a reputation over the years for finding lovely properties for you to enjoy.

You’ll love our properties, the interiors and locations and will be sad to leave. Each one comfortable, a home away from home, beautifully furnished, some welcoming pets, all spotlessly clean, well equipped and maintained by our caring property owners. A lovely selection of holiday cottages, houses and apartments in the glorious Yorkshire Dales and Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Beauty in country villages and small towns such as West Burton, Askrigg, Thornton Rust, Grewelthorpe, Masham, Hawes or more remote areas of Bishopdale, Walden and Nidderdale. 

Imagine a holiday of open spaces, breath-taking scenery, sparkling waterfalls, rivers and streams, tranquillity, award winning restaurants, welcoming pubs where you can meet the locals, bustling market towns, local crafts and mile upon mile of footpaths to wander at will. Here, on our website, you will find lots of suggestions of what to do or see, where to go, suggestions for lovely walks (all walked by Nadine), travel information and useful links to local websites. Most of our cottages are quite near to some of the National Trails, such as the Pennine Way, the Coast to Coast, the Pennine Bridleway, The Dales Way, the Nidderdale Way and lesser known trails such as the Yoredale Way, the Ripon Rowel and Lady Ann’s Way so bring your gear and get walking! Excellent walking shops in Hawes, Leyburn and Masham if you’re short of anything.

We are members of Welcome to Yorkshire as we are proud of our roots and passionate about the area we live in. By being members we are an active part of Yorkshire tourism and are invested in contributing towards Yorkshire tourism and its future. We care about the county and work alongside other Yorkshire businesses and organisations so that Yorkshire can continue to grow as a fantastic destination for you to enjoy. 

We also support the work of the Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust and are Associate Members. The Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust is a charity that works hard to protect the environment, conserve the natural heritage, and look after communities in the Yorkshire Dales. Set up in 1996 the Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust has completed more than 1200 individual projects worth over £28 million. These projects have included woodlands, wildlife habitats, barns, drystone walls, village halls, historic buildings and features of all shapes and sizes. We would like to invite you to contribute towards the important and vital conservation work YMDT do in the Yorkshire Dales by giving just £1.00 when you book your holiday with us.
