Wild Walks in Nidderdale launched by Springwatch Star!
This would seem like a lovely thing to try, wild walking! Lindsey Chapman, the BBC wildlife presenter and Patron of The Wild Watch in Nidderdale AONB, has launched three new Wild Walks.

What a truly wonderful walk. Was it the weather? Was it the terrain? Was it the fantastic views? All these things made this walk quite special. It’s been years since I’ve walked in upper Nidderdale, I’d nearly forgotten how beautiful it can be.
Circular walk from Masham, venturing to Hackfall Wood, Grewelthorpe, Nutwith Common Wood and back to Masham
For this walk of just over ten miles you really will need your map! OS Landranger 99. We set off on a wonderful autumnal day from Masham, easily parking our cars in the market place.
Galphay in Nidderdale an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty
Galphay is a pretty little village of about seventy houses, some clustered around the large village green. The village boasts a pub, The Galphay Inn, and village hall. You'll find The Galphay Inn a welcoming place with hand pulled real ales, a varied menu, Thursday night is steak night and various little happenings through the week.

Joanne and I were invited to join the Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust for their Supporters Lunch at the Himalayan Garden and Sculpture Park at The Hutts near Grewelthrope which we accepted with great pleasure.
