West Burton, found in the glorious Yorkshire Dales, is home to a beautiful Methodist Chapel, with unusual interior and is well worth a visit and if you plan your visit to come on the first Tuesday of the month, ten o’clock until twelve noon, a Coffee Morning will be in progress. Now, don’t be put off, it is a really jolly affair and we sit and chat in the school room adjoining the main chapel and have a really good natter and put the world to rights, as they say! There are lashings of tea and coffee and loads of different cakes etc to choose from. Make a donation and that’s it, enjoy!
As we were chatting someone mentioned the Treasure Trails, apparently these trails are nationwide, perhaps you have heard of them and even experienced some but sounds like great fun for everyone, little ones and oldies alike. Hawes, Leyburn, Masham, Middleham, Richmond, Ripon and so list goes on for our area, hours and hours of fun and exploring some of our local towns. Great to find all the nooks and crannies in a place. Some are detective trails, some treasure hunts, working out the clues given whilst wandering. For Hawes and Gayle it says ‘Local Cheesemaker meets Cheesy End’, how can you resist?
You do have to pay for the Treasure Trails books but what fun to be had, well worth it. Come and enjoy and stay in one of our lovely Country Hideaways holiday cottages and make a day of it exploring our pretty towns and solving clues. Call me, Nadine, or my daughter Joanne, on 01969 663559 to book over the telephone and for friendly help and advice or do book online if you prefer.
We’re looking forward to hearing from you quite soon!
