The Countryside Code in the Yorkshire Dales

Happy New Year and all the very best for 2024! Do hope you had a brilliant New Year’s evening and now looking forward to 2024 and whatever lovely surprises it may bring. We hope too we will be seeing you and look forward to helping you find your perfect holiday cottage here in the Yorkshire Dales. Joanne and I are always here to help you, call us on 01969 663559 for friendly help and advice and to book over the telephone or of course do book online if you prefer.

We have cottages sprinkled over Wensleydale and Nidderdale AONB sleeping from two people to ten people, some cottages accepting pets. Do have a look on our website for ideas, lots of photos and information about the cottage and the area too.

It seems a long time since I mentioned the Countryside Code, I too needed to refresh my mind as to what it actually says, do please find the Countryside Code Leaflet in PDF form here for you to link through to. We are so lucky to be able to be here in the glorious Yorkshire Dales and to explore its many footpaths and trails and for it to remain open to all and we all need to be aware, holidaymakers and residents alike, of certain rules that everyone should adhere to.

Just very briefly, please respect other people and consider the local community and other people enjoying the outdoors. Leave gates and property as you find them and follow paths unless wider access is available. Protect the natural environment by leaving no trace of your visit and take your litter home, keep dogs under effective control. Enjoy the outdoors by planning ahead and being prepared, following advice and local signs.

Please do look at the Countryside Code Leaflet as mentioned and most of all enjoy your stay here and visit here many times to explore more of this unique, beautiful place.

Hear from you really soon!
