Tour de Yorkshire 2019

Excitement is definitely brewing in the dales for the arrival of the Tour de Yorkshire over the weekend of 2 until 5 May with 38 teams competing. 3 May is Stage 2 for the men and Stage 1 for the women arriving in Harrogate from around 3pm onwards,

What a truly wonderful walk. Was it the weather? Was it the terrain? Was it the fantastic views? All these things made this walk quite special. It’s been years since I’ve walked in upper Nidderdale, I’d nearly forgotten how beautiful it can be.

Galphay in Nidderdale an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty

Galphay is a pretty little village of about seventy houses, some clustered around the large village green. The village boasts a pub, The Galphay Inn, and village hall. You'll find The Galphay Inn a welcoming place with hand pulled real ales, a varied menu, Thursday night is steak night and various little happenings through the week.
