Circular walk from Buckden on to Yockenthwaite to Cray and back to Buckden in Wharfedale
On an absolutely perfect autumn day we set off from Buckden to walk to Yockenthwaite over to Cray and back down to Buckden. About seven miles, couple of short steep climbs but otherwise quite easy going with terrific views for most of the way.
Richmond in North Yorkshire, the gateway to the Yorkshire Dales
I picked up a leaflet about Richmond the other day, a town we’ve often visited but yet not really visited reading the leaflet. It’s known to be a town of breathtaking beauty, inspiring painters and poets, past & present. WOW!
Lovely walk from Redmire to Carperby and Castle Bolton in glorious Wensledale
If you’re a regular walker in the Yorkshire Dales, in Wensleydale in particular, you’ve probably walked parts of this route, but I hope I’ve found some new footpaths, new to me anyway, that perhaps have been less trodden or the way is different to previously walked, I do hope so.
Spooktacular Fun at Lightwater Valley
Something spooky is coming to Lightwater Valley this Half Term from Saturday, 24th – Saturday, 31st October.

Pinker’s Pond, Hullo Bridge over the River Cover and Middleham all in Coverdale in the glorious Yorkshire Dales!

Peaceful village of Preston under Scar near Leyburn in Wensleydale in the Yorkshire Dales
Have you ever been to Preston under Scar? It’s not a village you would go through as the main routes bypass the village to the north and to the south. If you haven’t been its time to take a detour and have a little look!
A walk of footbridges, footpaths, moorland, woods, stunning views and the River Cover in Coverdale
A very different walk for me the other day, I’ve probably said it before but I’m amazed at how many footpaths I haven’t walked so close to home. Thinking myself as a bit a walker it can come as a bit of a shock sometimes although extremely enjoyable finding and exploring new ones.
