Are you Wearing the Right Gear?

Are you wearing the right gear when you go walking

Are you wearing the right gear for when you go walking in the glorious Yorkshire Dales?  A little bit of information to follow!

I don’t know about you but as I’ve got older waking up through the night is the norm, sometimes it’s good to read, sometimes just to day (night) dream and sometimes listening to podcasts fills the time perfectly. If you read my blogs about the wonderful walks we have here in the Yorkshire Dales you’ll know I’m always saying that it’s important to wear suitable clothing etc etc. It is important, not only to withstand any weather the dales may descend/shine upon you but also to keep you comfortable too. Nothing worse than walking for hours when there’s something niggling, pinching, scratching or just generally not right. So perchance I found the following podcast on Outdoor Clothing on BBC Sounds amongst the Sliced Bread series presented by Greg Foot, where, and I quote, he ‘investigates the so-called wonder products making bold claims. Are they the best thing since sliced bread, or marketing BS?’ Have a listen on Sliced Bread Outdoor Clothing, you might find it interesting, you might know all about what they are talking about already but it’s good to know you know too.

Happy listening, you might find something else that Greg is also talking about on there interesting too!

Come and enjoy some great walking in the Yorkshire Dales, also some great pubs to visit, castles, churches, stately homes, towns and villages, the locals. All waiting for you to discover and more. Stay in one of our lovely Country Hideaways holiday cottages located in the Yorkshire dales and some in Nidderdale too. Call me Nadine or my daughter Joanne on 01969 663559 to book over the telephone and for friendly help and advice or do book online if you prefer.

Hear from you quite soon!
