The Fabulous Richmondshire Concerts start again in September!

Share

For a couple years husband Geoff and I having been enjoying the Richmondshire Concerts as ‘proper’ members and many years before that as guests. The Richmondshire Concerts have been running for over 70 years, featuring professional classical musicians of a quality you’d normally expect to find only in large cities. Performances take place from September to April in Richmond’s Influence Church, a comfortable ex-cinema which seats over 350 visitors and offers a fine acoustic and perfect sight-lines.

The first is on 28 September with the fabulous Doric String Quartet performing Haydn String Quartet Op. 33 No. 1, Britten String Quartet No. 1 and Schubert String Quartet No. 14 in D Minor, "Death and the Maiden". The Doric String Quartet last came to Richmond six years ago and since then have been building a top-quality reputation, with many appearances on air and at large venues in Britain and overseas, and a number of recordings.

19th October brings the Royal Northern Sinfonia, our favourite local orchestra returning with a superb programme Richard Strauss Capriccio Sextet Op. 85, Wagner Siegfried Idyll and Mahler Symphony No. 1 (arr. Farrington)

These are just two of the up and coming concerts but to find out more please have a look on their Richmondshire Concerts website for full details and to get tickets. Follow on their facebook page https://www.facebook.com/RichSConcerts/

We don’t have any cottages in Richmond but most are well within a short drive away, the pleasures of living in the countryside! Search for dates and we’ll look forward to seeing you there too!
