Poem written in 1869 by Kathleen O’Mara
To start the month of May thought perhaps we could ponder a little more on our situation but also remember what has happened before. Came across this poem written in 1869, which was reprinted during the Spanish Flu Pandemic of 1919, and written by Kathleen O’Mara.
Lovely walk from Fairhurst’s at Berry’s in Swinithwaite in a circular manner
Our walking group decided to walk from Fairhurst’s at Berry’s in Swinithwaite. The walk was about four miles in total and easy going but the weather was not good, not good at all when we were getting ready. Berry’s to Berry’s and Lunch!
You’re on holiday and maybe you feel like just having a shortish walk, with some wonderful views, a bit of a hill to make you think it’s going to do you some good, which it most definitely will, a ‘cuppa’ to start and lunch awaiting at the end.
Circular Walk from West Witton in Wensleydale
What a lovely walk the other day, easy going, panoramic views, river side walking, wildlife, seemed to have everything going for it. Start from West Witton in Wensleydale, we parked in the large layby on the east side of the village by the A684.
