Just a small taster of happenings in and around the dales with lots more besides of course, some are listed on our Dales Events page. Highlight of the year maybe the Tour de Yorkshire in early May, Masham Steam Rally in July and the Leyburn 1940’s Weekend, Kettlewell Scarecrow Festival in August along with the Wensleydale Agricultural Show in Leyburn. RHS Harrogate Spring Flower Show is held in April with the RHS Harrogate Autumn Flower Show in September. Don’t miss the Hardraw Brass Band Festival at the beginning of September and don your boots and get those walking sticks out and join in with the Richmond Walking and Book Festival. Early on in the year in February, wrap up warm and be enthralled at the Dark Skies Festival, March to October bring the Flowers of the Dales Festival and in September learn all about our local sheep and not so local sheep at Masham Sheep Fair and I can’t finish without mentioning the Swaledale Festival, a fabulous mix of music, art and walking, held during May and June.
