The Yorkshire Dales is great place to bring your dog on holiday and after looking after Joanne’s little miniature dachshund for two weeks just lately we realised how easy it is to find somewhere to eat and to visit, not to mention the miles and miles of footpaths to explore together.
Sizzle, the dachshund, is getting to be quite an elderly lady now, in her prime in the photo above, so the walks we gave a miss but over the years we’ve covered some miles together, but we all enjoyed going to the Tears and Sprinkles café in Leyburn, water waiting at the door and separate bowl for you to put the dog’s food in if necessary. The Wensleydale Ice Cream Parlour was another favourite with ice cream for Sizzle too! Try the Coppice Café at the Aysgarth National Park Centre, their cakes etc are all home made and just delicious, good coffee too! Most pubs welcome well behaved dogs but check where to sit if wanting food. The Queens Head in Finghall was great with great food.
I feel the list could be endless and most places now have a website or at least web presence informing of whether your dog will be welcome or not.
We too have beautiful Country Hideaways cottages which welcome a dog, one or two to welcome a couple of dogs so do come along and bring your faithful friend you and enjoy some time walking the hills and partaking of other delights. Call me, Nadine, or my daughter Joanne, on 01969 663559 for friendly help and advice and to book over the telephone or, of course, do book online if you prefer.
So looking forward to hearing from you!
