Hill Top Cottage
We chose Hill Top Cottage because the views looked stunning (and they were), it was a fairly remote location and it was a good price. The cottage had a lovely homely feel, well equipped and in a stunning location. HIll Top Cottage was exactly as described and we wouldn't change a thing. Please thank Rob and Pat once again from us, we had such a lovely stay. We would definitely recommend Country Hideaways and Hill Top Cottage to family and friends20-Oct-2018

We have stayed at Hill Top Cottage before. The cottage is exactly as described, even better! Impeccably clean as always, value for money and the views are out of this world. Pat and Rob, the property owners, very welcoming next door. Another perfect week in the Dales. Thank you26-May-2018

Location, the cottage was very warm and welcoming, immaculately clean. This is the first cottage I've ever stayed in where the owners have thoughtfully provided a steamer for my veg!30-Sep-2017
Just what we were looking for - accommodation, price and not pets. Well equipped and located, standard of presentation, perfectly clean. Friendly owners. We really hope to return.23-Sep-2017
The view and the wildlife and not in a village with a relatively isolated position. It wasn't cold enough to need the woodburning stove on, but I am sure it would be wonderful in a few weeks - hardly disappointing!19-Aug-2017

Description and Location
Some three miles from West Burton, Hill Top Farm House and its adjoining cottage stand alone embraced by a small copse looking south to the wooded gills, meadows and moorland held in close relief on the other side of the valley. To the front of the cottage is a large gravelled parking area and raised patio garden, a wonderful place to sit and enjoy the views.
Access is over the flagged patio at the front of the cottage with entry to a hall with separate toilet and washbasin. Adjoining the hall is a modern, well equipped kitchen with ample space for dining. Off the kitchen is a cosy stylish lounge with laminate floor and flagged hearth with multi-fuel stove. A stairway rises from the kitchen to a small landing that serves a double bedroom with brass bedstead and a TV, a twin bedroom and a shower room with large tiled shower cubicle, washbasin and toilet. Also on the landing is an external door leading to a flagged patio and seating area at the rear of the cottage which is a pleasant place to enjoy the evening sunshine.
There are beautiful panoramic views down to Walden beck and across the dale from the bedrooms, lounge and kitchen with spectacular views both up down the dale and out into Wensleydale from the patio, garden and around the cottage.
A very appealing, contemporary barn conversion retaining lots of character with all the modern comforts of home and offering a very high standard of accommodation.
Not titled 'dale' but a small picturesque dale non the less, at its head, the towering Buckden Pike, limiting access to neighbouring Wharfedale to only bridleways and footpaths, and at its foot the acclaimed village of West Burton sitting at the juncture of Walden, Bishopdale and Wensleydale.
