Cottage Description

Welcome to Yorkshire Member Yorkshire Visitor Information

On the fringe of the village green, just before the road narrows into the Back Nook, stands Jesmond Cottage one of the many traditional stoneworked cottages that has been recently renovated.

Jesmond Cottage is a property of roomy proportions providing all modern comforts. The main access is through a small stone flagged patio garden with a bistro set, a relaxing place to sit and enjoy the views and activities on the green. The entrance opens into a cosy lounge with beamed ceiling, wood-burning stove and decorative stone alcoves.

Off the lounge is a well-equipped kitchen with dining area, which in turn gives access to the rear flagged patio. The patio can also be reached through a gated lane that leads from the village green a few yards away.

A stairway with pine balustrade rises from the lounge to two bedrooms, one large room with double and single bed and the other with a single bed. There is also a bathroom with bath, electric shower over the bath, washbasin and toilet.

Retention of the original and exposure of new features along with pine doors, panels and fitments blending with tasteful decoration and comfortable furnishings gives warmth to this cosy cottage and offers accommodation of a high standard.

Cottage Reviews

“We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Jesmond Cottage. The cottage is ideally located, overlooking the village green. It's homely and very well equipped. We enjoyed sitting on the bench and watching our two little boys play football on the green. Plenty of places to see, did some lovely walks straight from the cottage. It was nice to return to a cosy, warm woodburning stove in the evenings and a really nice roomy bedroom to rest those weary walking legs. Thank you”

“Second visit to Jesmond Cottage, very happy with the cottage. It is one of the cleanest I have rented and so well equipped. Loved the new woodburning stove and the decor in the double bedroom. nice touch having fresh flowers on arrival. Wouldn't change a thing”
