As the weather warms up, the risk of wildfire increases dramatically. Just one spark can have devastating consequences for our landscapes, wildlife and local communities. You can hep, protect our countryside by following a few simple rules.

*Choose a picnic instead of a BBQ.

*Dispose of cigarettes responsibly.

*Take glass bottles and litter home.

*Call 999 immediately if you spot a fire.

Every year, North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service responds to numerous fires across the National Park. While some are quickly contained, others take days to extinguish, causing lasting damage to nature, archaeology, farming and everyone’s enjoyment of these beautiful landscapes.
