We would like to introduce you all to a new cottage we have just more or less taken onto our books, Turnsyke Barn in Newbiggin in Bishopdale. The cottage sits at the quiet western end of Newbiggin, a peaceful little village in Bishopdale. Once a traditional Dales barn, it’s now a warm and welcoming two‑bedroom hideaway for three guests and a dog. Off road parking with walks from the cottage. Street Head Inn a short walk from the cottage, good food and always a warm welcome.
Inside the cottage, you’ll find a cosy living room with a multi‑fuel stove and a bright Shaker‑style kitchen, both looking out over the garden. The terraced outdoor space is a real bonus, with an upper level that opens onto views of the surrounding fields and fells.
Upstairs, the two bedrooms and bathroom sit beneath exposed beams that hint at the barn’s past life. It’s full of character yet has all the comforts you’d want for a relaxing break.
Turnsyke Barn makes a lovely base for exploring Bishopdale, Wensleydale, Wharfedale and the wider Yorkshire Dales — a peaceful spot to return to after days out in the hills.
Do come and stay, in fact, come and stay in any of our beautiful Country Hideaways holiday cottages, they are all here waiting for you. Call me, Nadine, or my daughter Joanne, on 01969 663559 for friendly help and advice and to book over the telephone or, of course, do book online if you prefer.
Joanne and I are very much looking forward to hearing from you soon!
