I feel we are all quite aware of the importance of defibrillators and in the Yorkshire Dales by now most villages have one or more available for your use. Defibrillators (AEDs) in the Yorkshire Dales are located in various towns, villages, and tourist spots, often in converted telephone boxes, community centres, and local businesses. I have found a website/app https://www.defibfinder.uk/ to help you find where you can locate your nearest. Once on the site click on the logo at the top of the screen of the first page to progress.
A defibrillator is a life-saving device that delivers an electric shock to the heart to restore a normal rhythm during cardiac arrest. Used when the heart stops or develops a fatal arrhythmia, these devices are commonly found in public spaces (AEDs) and provide step-by-step instructions, making them safe for anyone to use without training. All instructions ask that you dial 999
Yorkshire Ambulance Service (YAS) NHS Trust is launching a life-saving app which maps all the 1,288 automated external defibrillators (AEDs) across the Yorkshire county but looking on my phone for the app was unable to bring it up so it must still be work in progress but the Defib Finder website seemed very easy to use.
Most of the above text has been copied from official sites and I did not wish to amend at all just in case it became ambiguous.
We do look forward to you coming to our beautiful Country Hideaways holiday cottages and perhaps, just to be on the safe side, locate your nearest defibrillator on your travels, especially if you are out walking the hills and moors, you never know. Call me, Nadine, or my daughter Joanne, on 01969 663559 for friendly help and advice and to book your holiday cottage over the telephone or, of course, do book online if you prefer.
So looking forward to hearing from you!
