This weekend, Saturday 27 August 2016 and taking place from 9.30am until 5pm, is the 102nd Wensleydale Agricultural Show, wow, after 102 shows it must have become something of an institution in Wensleydale in the glorious Yorkshire Dales, visited by people coming from far and wide as well as by the locals! Located close to Leyburn on the show ground with plenty of parking available.
The list of things that will be there is quite endless, terrier racing; vintage tractors, steam machines and cars; sheep dog trials; flower and vegetable show; dry stone walling demonstration; competitions; homecrafts and handicrafts, trade stands. In the main ring, special for this year, is the Kangaroo Kid Quad Bike Stunt Show, which must appeal to all, thrills and spills I would think! But this is just one event to be going on in here.
Interested in livestock? Sheep, cattle, horses and poultry will all be looking sleek and beautiful and vying for a first in their particular section. Leyburn Brass Band will be serenading us for most of the day, why not enter your faithful doggy friend in the fun dog show? There will be a children’s fun fair, face painting and a bouncy castle………………
See you there!
