Wreath making morning at the Leyburn Arts and Community Centre

What a most enjoyable couple of hours spent at the Leyburn Arts and Community Centre at the wreath making workshop led by Amy from Rosemary and Twine in Leyburn. Rosemary and Twine is a wonderful shop and a must visit too.

We met in the morning and were warmly greeted by Amy and offered coffee, biscuits and mince pies. By this time I was getting a bit nervous but hey ho, it had to be done, no leaving now. When all were assembled, seventeen of us, we began. Amy was so kind and left no one to wonder what on earth we should be doing. There was greenery from one end of the room to the other, the smell was just heavenly, moss seemed to be growing as it appeared out onto the table. Dried fruits, ribbons, feathers, fir cones were abundant. With wire rings and a bobbin of wire in hand we started! Well, I have to say I need not have been nervous at all, it was just pure fun! Everyone chatted with everyone else, wreaths were admired from start to finish and everyone, absolutely everyone, produced something magnificent, something to be proud of and to show off once hung, if not before!

Look out on the facebook for further workshop dates from Rosemary and Twine and on their website and on Leyburn Arts and Community Centre for other events too, there’s always something going on.
