Humble Pie, where does the name come from? When I’m next in Askrigg I’ll call in and ask Elizabeth and Betty. Mother and daughter team have returned to their little shop, Elizabeth opening it first of all in 1999 when Betty was just 10 months old, closing in 2004. The building coming available once again and luckily for us all they opened in partnership in April of this year.
Whether eating in or taking away their food is delicious, too much to choose from really. All food is home made from bistro meals to takeaway along with hot drinks (it has to be Yorkshire Tea!) sandwiches, quiche and soup etc and if eating in hot drinks etc, tempting treats of cake and scones and for something savoury sandwiches, quiche and homemade soup of the day to probably my favourite which has to be Pudding of the Day!
Do call in if you’re in Askrigg, open Monday to Saturday, Sunday closed, check their website for times Humble Pie Fawcett and Guy or call 01969 650076.
If you’d like to stay in Askrigg in one of our cottages we have Cowlingholme Cottage and School House both to sleep four and both welcome one well behaved dog. Or do call us, Nadine and Joanne, on 01969 663559 for friendly help and advice.
