The quality of the fixtures and furnishings. All the extra touches which made it welcoming demonstrate the thought and time the owners have put into making this a first class cottage. The garden at the rear of the cottage is a real, secluded sun trap. A true 'jewel in the crown'!15-Apr-2016

Description and Location
The heart of West Burton village surrounds a large green but leading to and from the green are two narrow streets known colloquially as the Front and Back Nooks. Middle Cottage, a traditional stone built cottage dating from the 18th Century, is central to a typical dales terrace of three dwellings on the elevated ground of the Back Nook.
Access is either through the front entrance on the nook or through an adjacent archway to the rear patio garden. Entry at the front is to a lounge with open beamed ceiling, stone fireplace with flagged hearth and multi-fuel stove. A short hallway with a rise of five steps leads to a recent extension with fitted kitchen, tiled floor and dining area. The kitchen enjoys lots of soft natural light and overlooks the private patio garden to the rear of the cottage. A staircase rises from the lounge to a double bedroom with beamed ceiling and an en-suite shower room with a corner shower, washbasin and toilet. The bedroom views over pasture land to the distant crags of Penhill and into Wensleydale.
A homely cottage, renovated and extended in 2015 with the retention of many original features such as open beamed ceilings, ledged pine doors, stone fireplace and all the interesting nooks and crannies typical of a dales dwelling. A flawless and stylish blend of traditional and modern enhanced with quality fittings and sympathetic decoration to honour its past. The joy of the cottage is in the detail, an ideal place for two, intimate, thoughtfully designed and completed with loving care.
Please note this cottage is let on a Friday to Friday basis.
About West Burton
West Burton, acclaimed by many to be one of the most beautiful villages in England, rests snugly in a deep sheltered valley at the juncture of Walden Dale, Bishopdale and Wensleydale. Nearby, high fell sides rise steeply to form a spectacular setting to this most picturesque of dales villages, and on climbing can give unrivalled panoramas of the surrounding dales and distant views of the Vale of York and North York Moors.
