Bishopdale

Bishopdale is a deep valley running from Wensleydale to the heights of the Pennines at Kidstones Bank and descending into upper Wharfedale.

An extremely picturesque and panoramic route to cross the Pennines, with views to amaze and one of the few mountain stages of the recent Grand Depart.

There are scattered farmhouses and a small hamlet in the upper-dale and the villages of Thoralby to the north and Newbiggin in the south in the lower-dale where it meets the greater valley of Wensleydale near Aysgarth.
