Thoralby in Bishopdale is a village of about a hundred houses about a mile from Aysgarth, West Burton and Newbiggin. Nestled in the valley by Bishopdale Beck Thoralby is a pretty village with a central green, and within the village is  the George Inn, a shop with post office and a thriving village hall with Street Head Inn a short walk away in the direct of Newbiggin. The village has been there a long, long time dating back to the Doomsday Book and known as Turoldesbi in those days but given its ancient past is still a thriving village today. The Little White Bus makes its way through the village daily, the fish and chip van calls on a Wednesday evening at about 8.30 and there is an annual village fete held the first Sunday in August, not to be missed! Various events throughout the year in the village  hall

Numerous walks from the village check out this blog for ideas.

At the moment we don’t have cottages to let in Thorably but we have The Stable at Newbiggin in Bishopdale to sleep four plus up to two dogs and of course cottages of varying sizes in West Burton.
