Our walking group decided we should have an evening meal together near to Christmas, as you do, and chose the Sandpiper Inn in Leyburn. None of us having been there for a while felt it was a good opportunity to try the place again. We were not disappointed, from the moment we walked in to leaving. Because there were quite a few of us we had been asked to choose our meal beforehand, from the Christmas menu of course, which didn’t really matter either way as I for one had completely forgotten what it was I had ordered. Anyway, the place was warm and cosy, with a roaring fire in the bar, it wasn’t long before we were shown through into the dining room and complimentary bread soon arrived. We progressed slowly and easily through the courses, all piping hot, appetising and very nicely presented. The staff were all great and very helpful taking our coats as we arrived and taking care of us throughout our meal.
