The Yorkshire Dales Millenium Trust are based in Clapham and work to support the people, landscape and wildlife of the Yorkshire Dales.
You will see as you travel around the dales there have been loads of young trees planted and they will be supporting a further 40,000 trees being planted over the next few months. They are also working hard to restore hay meadows and creating habitats for bees and other pollinators. A magnificent sum of £41,300 has been awarded to twenty four different projects that will make a real difference to the local community.
Numerous iconic features in the dales have been restored including drystone walls, field barns, the shelter on the summit of Ingleborough also replacing the bronze toposcope plaque built within this shelter.
They also have an online shop where you can purchase books, cards, jigsaws and other lovely things, just in time for Christmas! I always get my Christmas cards from them!
