Introduction
Our self-catering two storey, two bedroom cottage is located on the main street, close to the centre of Hawes.
We have tried to provide as much information as possible in this statement, if you have any queries please do call.
We look forward to welcoming you.

Pre-Arrival
We have a basic website with all our contact details.
Bookings / enquiries can be made via email, phone or through country Hideaways.
The nearest bus stop in the town is approx 150 metres from the entrance.
The nearest train station (Garsdale) is 7 miles away; there is a regular bus to the town or you can call a taxi from the station.
We can provide information in large print on request.
The nearest RADAR toilet is in the town approx 150 metres from the cottage.

Arrival and Car Parking Facilities
There is on road parking (A684) outside the cottage (not guaranteed but usually no problem), a free car park approx 100 metres form the cottage and a pay and display car park off Gayle Lane approx 350 metres from the cottage.
The road and both car parks are on slight inclines.
The entrance is reached from the footpath (1.5 metre wide) on the roadside.
Main Entrance and Sitting Room (3.6m x 3.6m)
The cottage has a visible sign in slate mounted on the wall by the front door.
The entrance at the front is flat with a 15mm door threshold. The door width is 90cm, there are two keyholes, one is 100cm high and the other is 120cm.
The front entrance opens into the sitting room, which has an open coal fire; Stone flagged floor and a 240cm x 160cm deep pile rug, 2 x 2 seater settees and a coffee table. A 90 cm door leads through a120cm passage to the dining room.
Teletext TV provided with remote control (also available are DVD/VCR)
There is free space of 3.6 metres x 1.3 metres clear of doors and furniture.

Dining Room (3.6m x 2.7m)
Dining table is 180cm long 76cm wide and 79cm high with 66cm clearance underneath. There is 65cm clearance on three sides and 130cm at one end of the table.
Six wooden chairs with no arm-rests.
The floor covering is laminate.
A radio/tape/cd player provided.
A 90cm opening with three steps x 18cm deep leads down to the kitchen.
There is free space of 1.20m by 2.67m clear of doors and furniture.
Utility Room (2.36 x 2.7m)
There is a 10cm step down into the utility room, which has a stone flagged floor with a 150cm x 90cm rubber backed mat on it.
There is a cold water tap 80cm high.
A washing machine is provided, for clothes drying a retractable clothes line can be taken one way and hooked outside and the other way to be hooked inside.
A work top 100cm long x 95cm high over a 50cm wide storage cupboard and a 50cm wide void, which stores the outside bbq.
A 80cm door leads out into the garden over a 10cm threshold.
Stairs and First Floor
A 90cm door leads from the sitting room onto a stone staircase 88cm wide with a right-handed return after 4 x 18cm high x 90cm wide steps, a further 9 x 18cm steps with a handrail on the left, go to the top.
There are two 14cm high x 90cm wide steps up to the main bedroom and two 14cm high x 90cm wide steps up to the main landing which is 90cm wide and 2.8m long with a door to the bathroom at the end.
The landing and two steps into the bedrooms is carpeted.
Bedrooms
Main bedroom (3.6m x 3.6m)
Door width 86cm.
King-sized double bed, height from floor to top of mattress is 54cm.
Dressing table with stool (42cm high).
Teletext TV provided with remote control (also available are DVD/VCR).
The Wardrobe has two drawers one at 33cm high and the other at 53cm high, the hanging rail inside the wardrobe is 180cm high.
Non-Feather duvets and pillows provided.
Sheets, duvet covers and pillow cases are cotton.
Largest free space clear of doors and furniture is 110cm by 270cm.
Floor is carpeted.
Bedroom 2 (2.79m x 2.64m)
Door width 80cm.
Bunk beds, 1st bunk 60cm from floor to top of mattress 2nd bunk 145cm to top of mattress.
There is chest of 5 drawers, the highest drawer is 116cm high.
Floor is carpeted.
A storage cupboard, used as a wardrobe has a clothes rail at 190cm high.

Bathroom and WC (3.1m x 2.0m) 
There are 3 steps down to the bathroom 22cm x 80cm wide.
Door width 75cm.
Bath with Electric flexible shower over.
Bath height is 60 cm. There is a curved glass shower door at one end of the bath. Headroom at the shower end is 2.0m and limited to 1.6m at the opposite end.
Free space in bathroom (free of doors and furniture) is 2.5 by 1.1 metres.
Toilet seat height 42cm.
Space to right of toilet is 120cm & 20cm to the left.
Flooring is vinyl.
Walls are tiled.
Washbasin height is 86cm.

Self-catering Kitchen (3.1m x 2.0m)
Galley style kitchen 88cm width between worktops.
Worktop height 88cm.
Oven door is drop down, height of lowest shelf 40cm, can be accessed from the side.
Sink is 88cm high with cupboards underneath.
Hob is 90cm high and electric.
Flooring is quarry tile.
Evenly lit kitchen with spotlights.
Good contrast between floor, cupboards and other surfaces.
Fridge with small freezer available, highest shelf in fridge 50cm.
A wall mounted fire blanket is 160cm high.
A 80cm door opens into the utility room.
Grounds and Gardens
Door from utility room 80cm on to flagged area.
Coal bunker with sliding door at the bottom.
One step 20cm high to garden level.
Small garden approx 10m x 4m 1/3 gravel, 1/3 grassed & 1/3 stone flagged.
Garden furniture & bbq available.
Additional Information
Information folder is produced in size 12 font (can be audio on request).
Good mobile phone reception for o2 users.
The cottage is no smoking.
Pets and service dogs are welcome – please inform us on booking.
