Introduction |
| Pre-Arrival • see www.countryhideaways.co.uk for our cottage details with recent photos of most rooms and the exterior; • bookings can be made directly from our agent's website or via email, fax, phone or letter; • Askrigg offers basic amenities including a village shop (currently no Post Office). At Hawes, a small market town 4 miles from Askrigg there are more services including a GP practice. Somewhat further (10 miles) is Leyburn, with more facilities. |
| Arrival and Car Parking Facilities • One car may be parked on the flagged area immediately before the house. There is a step over the door frame into the entry hall. |
| Entrance • The entry hall is small (around 1.5 m square) and gives level access into both the kitchen and lounge. Downstairs is a level floor with a step down to the back yard. From the entry hall a stone stairway leads upstairs with a handrail on the left hand side. |

| Dining Room and Lounge Lounge • The sitting room has an elevated Baxi open fire. There is a two seter settee and two armchairs. A pine cupboard contains games and there is a large bookcase with a collection of books of general and local interest. The bookcase also houses the hi-fi / CD player, The TV / DVD is located on a low table in a corner. All applinces have remote control. |
| Bedrooms • There are two bedrooms both accessed by a final step up from a small stone landing. In the front bedroom is a double bed with two bedside cabinets and a built in wardrobe; in the other two twin beds with bedside cabinets and one freestanding and a built in wardrobe. |

| Self-catering Kitchen • The kitchen/ diner is accessed from the entry hall on the level. There is a typical range of new fittings offering a built in oven below worktop height, an electric cooking range at worktop height, stoage cupoards at floor and above-worktop height and, on the opposite wall, an old-style Welsh dresser offering more storage and surface for electrical appliances. |
| Grounds and Gardens • Behind the house is a flagged terrace which is two steps up from the level of the ground floor of the house. It is accessed thriugh the house via a back door or thorough a side entrance by the house. There is a large, stone-built store / shed and a coal house next to the house. Garden furniture is staored in the winter in the shed. |
| Additional Information • School House is in a quiet village on a no-through-road. There has been no accident or incident here in the 18 years of our ownership. |
