Introduction |
| Pre-Arrival • See www.countryhideaways.co.uk for our cottage details with recent photos of the interior and exterior. • Bookings can be made directly from our agent's website or by email, fax, phone or letter. • Directions and key collection arrangements are provided for guests by our agent well before arrival. • This Access Statement is available on our agent's website and the Welcome Folder kept in the cottage. |
| Arrival and Car Parking Facilities • Penny Farthings has its own off-road car parking facility next to the cottage. • Entrance to the property is through a large, wrought iron, electric gate which will be open prior to arrival. • Visitors have their own remote control for the gate during their stay for easy access without getting out of the car. |
| Entrance • The front door of the cottage leads straight into the sitting-room and kitchen area with the double bedroom to your right. There are no stairs. |

| Lounge The lounge is equipped with two comfortable arm-chairs, with their own footstools for relaxing after a day's sight-seeing or walking, a small occasional table, bookcase and plenty of lighting. It has Freeview satellite TV and a DVD player, books, games and jigsaws for your entertainment, and lots of information on local sights of interest and facilities. The dining alcove has cushioned bench seating and a good sized round table. Coat hooks are situated to the left of the front door with a boot storage area below. Heating is provided by a thermostatically controlled electric room-heater and by a coal-burning stove effect electric heater for occasional use when extra heating is required. All electricity for heating, cooking, lighting and hot water is included. |
| Laundry There is no washing machine available in the cottage, but there is a launderette in Leyburn. |
| Bedrooms The bedroom contains two comfortable divan beds that can form a king-sized bed or be split into two singles, as you prefer, with bedside tables, over-bed lighting, good sized wardrobe and a chest of drawer/dressing table unit providing plenty of storage space. Extra blankets, an ironing board and foldable clothes dryer can be found in the wardrobe. All linen is included. |

| Self-catering Kitchen The kitchen area is fully equipped with an electric cooker, fridge with a small freezer compartment, microwave, sink and drainer, crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils, etc. Washing up liquid and other cleaning products are provided as are drying cloths and kitchen hand towels. A large cupboard next to the kitchen area contains further cleaning materials, a vacuum cleaner and spare plastic bags and space for grocery storage. Also in the cupboard are an iron, spare light bulbs, pegs, and a small emergency kit of matches and a torch. The waste bin is situated under the sink, and the vinyl floor provides a safe and cleanable surface to stand on. |
| Grounds and Gardens The landscaped garden with fruit trees and a small rockery can be found at the side of the cottage. This is a pleasant place to sit and soak up the Yorkshire air. A small patio, with a table and chairs is provided. The garden is fully enclosed. |
| Additional Information • Penny Farthings is a no smoking property. • Well-behaved pets are welcome. A “code of conduct” for pets is contained in the Welcome Folder. • A smoke alarm is situated between the sitting-room and bedroom and a fire extinguisher can be found in the kitchen area. • Bookings are from Saturday to Saturday. Arrival time is after 3 pm and departure by 10 am, except by arrangement. |
