The Shippon, Askrigg

Standing by the side of Mill Lane, a quiet cul-de-sac, which leaves the west side of the village towards Mill Gill, is The Shippon a traditional semi-detached dales cottage worked in local stone. To the side of the cottage is a parking area and a small but tranquil patio garden with teak bench, barbecue and patio set.

The front entrance opens to a small wood panelled hallway which in turn leads to a cosy lounge with beechwood floor, raised hearth and multi-fuel stove inset in a rustic brick fireplace. Through the lounge is a modern well equipped pine kitchen and dining area with a flagged tiled floor.

A panelled stairway with balustrade rises from the lounge to a landing serving two bedrooms, each with a double bed and views out over the dale to the slopes of Addlebrough. There is also a good sized bathroom with bath, shower, washbasin, toilet and heated towel rail.

The extensive use of wood panelling, fitments and furniture blending with mellow beech, along with a decor of rich colours in co-ordination with traditional furnishings warm and cosy accommodation to a very high standard.

A dry stone walling course is available to holidaymakers staying at The Shippon, for further details and how to book please click here.
