Mallyan Wynd, Preston under Scar

10% discount offered on remaining holidays until the beginning of September! Come away to this Yorkshire hideaway with amazing views. 1 small dog welcome.

Originally an 18th century cottage, Mallyan Wynd is now a self-contained, garden level apartment. Access is along a stone-flagged wynd (rhymes with find) which is the Yorkshire name for a passage often leading to hidden delights. Mallyan Wynd certainly lives up to this Yorkshire name.

The main entrance opens into a comfortable lounge and dining area with the original stone-flagged floor and traditional dales open hearth fire-range. Coal and logs are provided for cosy nights around an open, crackling fire, roasting chestnuts when they are available. Large sliding double glass doors give magnificent views over the well kept garden and the splendours of Wensleydale beyond and enable you to continue enjoying the garden after dark with well placed garden lights amongst the flower beds. These doors also open onto a patio area with garden furniture to enjoy outdoor meals and further relaxation.

Off the lounge is a small, well equipped kitchen. A separate hallway leads to a shower room with toilet, shower and washbasin. Further along the hallway is a comfortable bedroom with a pretty four-poster bed and pine furniture.

This cosy apartment faces south and looks out over mid-Wensleydale to the steep slopes of Penhill and offers magnificent views from the apartment and the lawned gardens. It is truly a country hideaway.
