Cherry Tree Cottage (h), Hawes

On the corner of a narrow wynd linking the two main thoroughfares, close to the old stone bridge and waterfall, stands Cherry Tree Cottage.

A small semi-detached cottage of character, formerly part of the larger and adjoining Cherry Tree House.

Access is through a small flagged yard to a small porch extension containing a compact but well equipped kitchen.

Through the kitchen, by way of a 17th century door, is a comfortable lounge/dining room that retains many original features such as exposed ceiling beams and joists, pine doors and a large inglenook fireplace with stone hearth that now houses a wood-burning stove.

A stone stairway winds from the lounge to a double bedroom with a beautiful beamed and boarded ceiling and pine panelled wall.

Off the bedroom is a shower room with shower cabinet, washbasin and toilet.

Cherry Tree Cottage is one of the oldest dwellings in Hawes now carefully renovated to highlight many of the charming and original features that have stood the test of centuries.

These bring warmth and character to a cosy cottage with tasteful decoration and comfortable furnishings that together provide a very good standard of accommodation.
