We had a lovely welcome from Mrs Hacket Pain, along with a lovely posy of fresh flowers, fresh eggs and some delicious homemade strawberry jam. Very rarely have we encountered such and we have been doing 'these kind of holidays' for years now.

The location and the friendliness of the owner and other villagers. The cottage was comfortable and a real escape from a busy work schedule and a wonderful place to relax and wind down.

This was my first holiday away as a single mum. Both my son and I had a wonderful week exploring the Dales and staying at Annas Cottage. Preston under Scar unknowlingly was a perfect choice with everybody making us feel warm and welcome. The local annual event Fish and Chips in the Park was a fun evening.

I thought that Annas Cottage was the best cottage that we could have stayed, I thought that the locals were very friendly and welcomed us to the village in a friendly manner. I would love to come back to Annas Cottage in the future. The local event, Fish and Chips in the Park was amazing and I shall pass it on as Preston under Scar is a great place for a holiday.

Thank you so much for accommodating us at such short notice, for your lovely warm welcome, and for looking after us so well during our stay. It has been a heaven sent break in such a quiet friendly village and we shall return home much refreshed. Your cottage is lovely, really homely, beautifully clean and very well equipped. We so enjoyed Matthews (property owners son) eggs and courgettes and look forward to sampling the honey. It has just been so lovely to have your beautiful paintings around us, your quiet village, how I shall miss that! and the wonderful view of Penhill (from the village) - we have not needed to go far afield during our short stay here.
